In March of 1989 an extroverted young man full of energy and personality, along with his wife, purchased 1.86 acres at the end of Quarry Road just beyond where the Garrett 8 Cinemas are today. It was William C. Hughes (aka Dr. Willy) and his wife Penny D. Hughes. Dr Willy’s not only retailed fish from the shop, he also visited the local restaurants to offer wholesale transactions. Crabs and oysters as you might expect were very popular items in season; however, Doc had a full line of seafood.
