In 2010 the Silver Tree building was vacant and Phil and Erica Gideon started activity to purchase the restaurant. Several snags were encountered along the way; however, Phil stayed firm in his plan and on March 4, 2011, settled on the property. The name Dutch was Eileen father’s nickname. They are natives of Red House Garrett County and her father was Fred (Dutch) Onderdonk. The family left Red House and moved to Frederick when Eileen was still a child. In approximately 1985 Eileen and her sister opened a restaurant there and named it Dutch’s Daughter in honor of their beloved father.
