At the corner of Turkey Neck Road and Rt. 135 is where Herman O. Schmidt and Marie (Steiding) Schmidt opened this store in May of 1930. The store was run by Marie and she sold groceries and Pennzoil gasoline along with other items found in a convenience store. She catered to the locals and all the lake people in the Turkey Neck area.
